Last weekend, nearly 2,100 alumni returned to campus for Reunion 2024 to reconnect with longtime friends, reflect on the history of ���Ĵ�ý, and look toward its future.

A new 65,000-square-foot basketball and volleyball arena will anchor a new athletics quadrangle at ���Ĵ�ý, replacing the Reid Athletics Center. Construction of the facility, part of the University’s Third-Century Plan initiatives, is slated to begin in February.

���Ĵ�ý will mark the beginning phases of the Lower Campus Initiative under the Third-Century Plan this summer with construction and restoration projects at 66 and 70 Broad Street.

���Ĵ�ý recently hosted a lecture by Avery Trufelman, host of the fashion podcast Articles of Interest.

���Ĵ�ý's second annual celebration of arts, creativity, and innovation brought hundreds to campus for a weekend of performances, workshops, presentations, and panel discussions.

Having been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease five years ago, former ���Ĵ�ý president Rebecca Chopp has embraced the visual arts and dance as part of her “prescription” to live life to the fullest.

���Ĵ�ý’s Center for Arts, Creativity, and Innovation, which is nearing completion and expected to open in the fall, will be named Bernstein Hall in honor of the lead donor’s genealogical roots.

A major landscape and infrastructure project designed to better connect the upper and middle areas of campus at ���Ĵ�ý will begin this month.

Spearheaded by Professor Yukari Hirata, the Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures completed the renovation of an authentic Japanese tea room in the Japan Center in Lawrence Hall.

Demolition to begin in February, followed by expected 21-month construction period.
